Fructital participated as a Technical Sponsor of Con.Pa.It in the third edition of “Scirubetta Festival” from 14 to 17 September, proposing for the occasion two delicious combinations inspired by the event.

The evocative “Falcomatà” seafront in Reggio Calabria provided the backdrop to the event, where the visiting public was guided on an exclusive sensory journey in which Artisan Gelato was the absolute protagonist.

During the Festival 34 Master Gelato Makers from all over the world competed for the title of “Best Artisan Gelato” by presenting unique flavors and combinations

Here is the ranking of the winners decreed by the Technical Jury:

1st Shibano Kosuke of “Malga Gelato” | Ishikawa (Japan), proposed “Kalamansi”, a delicate sorbet based on oriental lemon with coconut milk

2nd Domenico Curiale of the Gelateria “Il Gelatone” | Rome, proposed “Ristacchio”, a sophisticated ice cream made with milk, cream, rice cream and a rice cream variegation with Bronte pistachio

3rd Alessandro Squatrito from the Gelateria “Ritrovo Orchidea” | Oliveri (ME), proposed “Salted peanut with caramel”, a delicious ice cream made with milk, cream, salted peanut paste and caramel

Here is the ranking of the winners decreed by the Popular Jury:

1st Giovanni Castaldo from the “Gelateria 21-12” | Lamezia Terme (RC), proposed “Pino Lametino”, a delicious ricotta (cow’s milk) ice cream, variegated with Bronte pistachios and caramelized almonds

2nd Domenico Laganà from the Gelateria “MCKENZYE” | Reggio Calabria, proposed “Crema Nocciola Buonissimo” a rich ice cream with cream and Italian hazelnut, vanilla, prestige milk chocolate, gianduia cream and hazelnut

3rd Francesco Leone of the Gelateria “Sicilia” | Dunajska Streda (Slovakia), proposed “Bacio di Luisa” a delicious ice cream made with bitter Gianduia, Piedmont hazelnut cream and toasted whole hazelnuts

In addition, the renowned competition “The Best Bergamot Ice Cream of Reggio Calabria” was won again by the Japanese Gelato Chef Kosuke Shibano, in second place the American Gelato Chef Kimberly Zanni, closing in third place the Gelato Chef Giovanni Castaldo. The first two classified chose Fructital to create their Ice Creams that were able to conquer the public and the jury of this contest, aimed at enhancing one of the most precious treasures of the territory.
